Sometimes I just get so tired of the same old cookies that I always make so I looked for a new recipe in a cook book Clayton's mom had given me and I knew from the secret ingredient that they would be phenomenal. Nestle Quick Powder. My family has put this delicious stuff on the top of our ice cream and in our milkshakes for years. Now in cookies?! What could be better.
SECRET INGREDIENT COOKIES
(from 'Celebrate! A Tradition of Great Cooks')
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup Quick powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups large lake oatmeal
1 cup chocolate chips
Combine wet ingredients and beat until creamy. Sift together dry ingredients and add to wet; mix until completely combined. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
These were so good I made a plate to take to my friend who moved into our neighborhood but I could not take them over because I wanted to eat them! Sorry Kayla. I ate all of mine and hers. That is how good they were.
