summer vacation part four - montana and park city

While I was in Utah this summer for vacation I took the kids and drove up to Montana to spend a week at Clayton's family's cabin in Big Fork, Montana. It is so gorgeous there! Unfortunately it was one of the coldest summers Montana has ever had and the average temperature the week we were there was about 40 degrees. For real. We never even put our bathing suits on and wore the one pair of jeans and one long sleeve shirt we brought every day. Other than the temperature it was nice and relaxing!
Going on a nice leisurely hike a few miles up the road from the cabin. Mike, Clay, Scarlett and Jackson. Scarlett thought the baby carrier was pretty funny.
Little family portrait.
Katie's birthday! Monet, Katie, Britney, Ashley and Tana.
Monet, Ashley and Katie showing off their fairy princess headbands.
Scarlett's favorite place to hide. :)
Katie and the birthday goodies we gave her!
The beautiful lake as the sun is going down! They were pulling the little island full of fireworks out to the middle of the lake for the big Fourth of july fireworks show.
All the mom's and grandma's wrapped up with the little kiddos. It was freezing!!!!!!!!!!!
Katie and Monet were in heaven putting make-up on Grandma Trisha for like an hour.
Ashley!
Clay's sister Tana!
Scarlett in her paper bag. She thought this was pretty funny.
The cabin!
After we got back from Montana we headed up to Park City, Utah for a week at my parent's time share. Oh my gosh Park City is so beautiful! In my dreams Clay and I have a cabin there when we are older. The above picture is my brother in law Ryan with Monet at the bowling alley! The time share is at the Marriott Park City Resort. Our window looked right out over the pool and beautiful mountain. We could watch all the families go up the ski lift and come down the Alpine slides. It was really cool. We swam and bar-b-q'ed and hiked and crafted and even floated down the Provo River. It was the highlight of our summer!
We rented a boat for the day. In my opinion there is NOTHING more fun then spending warm summer days in a boat on a lake. It was so dreamy. The weather was absolutely beautiful but not to hot and the water was perfect. We surfed and tubed and had a great lunch and got tan!
I can't wait until next summer for this!
Demi and my mom.
My mom and the cutest baby ever, Scarlett.
Clay surfing! Me ready to catch the rope. If you have never surfed behind a boat in a lake, do it. It is 1000 times more fun than wake boarding in my opinion.
My dad and Monet.

We were so sad my sister Hilarie and her family couldn't come! They missed a great time but hopefully we can all meet in Utah this coming summer!
